Santa Barbara

The May 2013 PSSC meeting took place in the Bill Burke and NancyBell Coe garden in Santa Barbara. The site was formerly the home and garden of the Gunther Schwartz family. Since our visit seven years ago, the garden suffered fire damage and neglect before careful restoration by the present owners Bill and NancyBell. Gunther Schwartz (in SPIRIT) would be delighted by our return to his now carefully restored garden.

The garden is known for the most varied collection in Santa Barbara and outstanding succulent planting. Mr. Schwartz devoted 25 years creating his garden on a 2-acre site, and Mr. Burke and Ms. Coe are continuing that legacy.

Approximately 30 PSSC members appeared, and a great time was had by all.
